Ingredients

For the steak bites:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

For the mashed potatoes:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or milk for a lighter option
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the mashed potatoes:

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the potatoes until tender (about 12-15 minutes).
  • Drain and mash with butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste, and set aside, keeping warm.

Cook the steak bites:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak bites with salt and pepper.
  • Add the steak cubes to the skillet in a single layer and sear for about 2 minutes on each side, until browned but still tender inside. Remove the steak and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic. Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then add the steak bites back into the pan, tossing them to coat in the garlic butter sauce.

Serve:

  • Plate the creamy mashed potatoes and top with the garlic butter steak bites. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!
