What about a pallet dog house floor & ‘porch’? Using 6 pallets, I laid them in a 2 x 3 rectangle (you can nail them together, I didn’t bother). Then I had 3 pieces of thin particle board which I laid over the pallets (mine happened to fit perfectly, covering 2 pallets at a time, so again, 3 wide. The small spaces between allowed for some kind of water drainage.). I placed the dog house (a recycled shipping crate which happened to be just about the size of a pallet) on a middle pallet (whichever will be toward the back of the dog house), with the dog house door facing the other middle pallet. This gave the dog a place to stay off the ground when it rained or snowed, plus the days after when the ground was sodden. Dog now had a ‘porch’ in front, plus on each side. He could view ‘his kingdom’ without a muddy mess when he came inside.
